Eden Whale Festival

Friday 1st November, 2019 - Sunday 3rd November, 2019

Join us for the 2019 EDEN WHALE FESTIVAL held  1st, 2nd & 3rd November.

There’s no better place than Eden, NSW to have a close encounter with whales.

Eden’s Whale Festival is an annual event, highlighting the southern migration of the humpback and other whales.

For one weekend each year, the rich maritime and whaling history of this port on Australia’s Coastal Wilderness becomes the centrepiece for a weekend that somehow seamlessly links all things whale. There’s a spectacular street parade featuring Hot Rods, floats, trucks and much more. The festival will be held at the Barclay Street, Sporting ovals.   There will be vibrant markets showcasing and selling the work of local artisans, great local food and wine, Forest machines in action on display, woodchop, educational marine displays and presentations, quality children’s entertainment, live music and – of course – the best whale watching experience in Australia.

An Exhibition of Photography, Woodwork and Repurposed competition entries along with the local Pottery group and Quilters group is open all weekend.    On the Sunday you are encouraged to explore the area, look over the hot rods which will be on display for the Show & Shine in the main shopping area of Eden.

So much to see and do – come along and see for your self.

Keep an eye on the festivals website or Facebook page for information on what will be happening closer to the date.

Tathra Fishing Competition – Australia Day Weekend

Saturday 25th January, 2020 - Monday 27th January, 2020

Celebrate Australia Day at Tathra with a day out fishing with the chance to win great prizes. The Tathra Fishing Club has held this two-day competition since the early sixties. It is now a tradition that enables Club members from all over Australia to get together and catch up. It is also a chance for holiday makers to enter and have some fun while learning from the locals where the best spots to fish are. Seas on Australia Day are usually perfect for fishing with boats venturing out from Kianinny Bay to the ‘shelf’, while others choose the wharf, beach or inlet to try their luck at pulling in the big one. Following the final weigh-ins is a BBQ back at the Fisherman’s Club. A great weekend for those that love their fishing.
