Retracing the Bermagui Mystery

Sunday 17th September, 2017

Starting at 10.00am at Bermagui Headland (above the harbour entrance), the scene will be set for the start of the last days of Lamont Young and party. From there the group will proceed north stopping at relevant points on the way. The event ends at Mystery Bay for lunch and a general discussion of the site and any new information.

A car pool s a good option. Please bring your own lunch and/or food to share. Everyone is welcome.

New information is being discovered all the time … maybe we will eventually know what happened, how it happened, where it happened and why. For now it is still a mystery and one of Australia’s greatest unsolved crimes.

Organised by the Bermagui Historical Society, the Montreal Goldfield Management Committee and the Narooma Historical Society. Contact Laurelle Pacey 4476 1582.

Tilba Easter Festival

Saturday 31st March, 2018

A unique festival with entertainment and activities to suit all tastes, live music on several different stages, roaming street performers, producers hall showcasing local produce, market stalls and delicious food.

There’s stilt walkers, buskers, street theatre, jumping castles, airbrush tattoos, face painting and a continuous reptile awareness show. Try your hand at the new cheese rolling competition, the treacherous egg throwing championship, the bushies boot throwing contest or one of the many other games and activities.

This all happens in the magical setting of Central Tilba’s main street and its 100 year old, colourful weather board buildings. Easter Saturday is the one day each year when Bate Street is closed to traffic and open to a huge array of culture and festivities.  A modest entry donation for adults and free entry for kids 2-16 years covers all the entertainment, all day long!

The festival is proud to be a volunteer non-profit community project, completely free of corporate sponsorship, and dedicated to a day of fun for everyone who attends.
