Peter Campbell Exhibition @ Shop7 ArtSpace

Wednesday 13th June, 2018 - Wednesday 27th June, 2018

Peter Campbell of Wallaga Lake exhibits his photography as a guest artist in the Shop7 ArtSpace.

This is an interesting group of works that cover a range of styles — abstract, naturalistic and the humorous.

Peter began a career as a photojournalist in the 1980s. He gave away his manual Nikon 35mm some years ago and now uses a point and shoot Nikon Coolpix. He gets great results with this equipment as his exhibition shows.

Victor Ego or The Brainstorm @ Murrah Hall

Friday 6th July, 2018 - Sunday 15th July, 2018

A one man play conceived, written and performed by Patrick Dickson, this is a theatrical exploration of a genius in exile.

Patrick grew up on the island of Guernsey and now lives in the Bega Valley Shire. His acting career of 40 years includes stage, screen and radio. Audiences may recognise him from ‘Seachange’ or Bell Shakespeare, or may know his work on the independent theatre scene with O’Punsky’s.

Patrick became fascinated, perhaps obsessed, with the story of Victor Hugo’s 15 year political exile in Guernsey and with the romantic adventure he wrote there, “The Toilers of the Sea”. This is the fruit of that obsession.

Peter pulls together the essential ingredients of a ripping yarn which will become a best selling novel. He conjures up a cast of characters and spices their relationships with betrayal, obsession, love, sacrifice and a dash of skullduggery.

Produced by O’Punsky’s Theatre, Patrick will perform at the Murrah Hall on:
July 6th, 7th, 13th and 14th at 7.00pm
July 8th and 15th at 3.00pm

Approximately 2 hours with interval.

Cobargo Folk Festival

Friday 1st March, 2019 - Sunday 3rd March, 2019

Cobargo Folk Festival 2016

The historic village of Cobargo, on the NSW Far South Coast, hosts the Cobargo Folk Festival, now into its third decade.

Produced by the Yuin Folk Club and first held in 1996, this festival of music, dance, song, comedy, poetry, fun and fine food and drink, attracts thousands of visitors to one of the most beautiful regions of Australia, the lush Bega Valley.

Folk music is music that comes out of community. It includes the tunes and songs from cultures all over the world – Aboriginal songs, music and dances, Celtic, English, Scottish, bluegrass, Old Timey, African, Indian, Spanish, South American and more  – a huge range. At our festival you will find concerts, workshops, dances, poetry events, singing and tunes sessions across a range of musical genres that make up our vibrant folk culture.

The festival is held in a beautiful rural setting with ample space and excellent facilities (including onsite camping with all amenities). Being fully self-contained means it is great for young children and the festival is very family friendly.

The Cobargo Showground is a short walk to the Cobargo village where there is a good pub, coffee shops, craft and antique shops and a service station. A huge range of food and craft stalls are also provided as part of the festival.

Follow Cobargo Folk Festival on Facebook for regular updates and news or email info@cobargofolkfestival.com
