Men’s Health 101 – Public Forum

Tuesday 6th June, 2017

When it comes to blokes looking after themselves, they are not very good at it! They tend to use the “wait and see” approach.

As part of Men’s Health Week 2017, come along to this public session “Men’s Health 101: Healthy Body/Healthy Mind – Keeping the Balance” for men and women and increase your awareness of specific men’s health issues. Presented by Dr Gundi Muller-Grotjan from 5.00pm to 7.00pm.

This public forum is offered with the co-operation of U3A Bermagui & District. Thanks to the Bermagui Country Club for their support and hospitality.

A Conversation with Susan Ryan

Thursday 8th June, 2017

Bermagui Library welcomes Susan Ryan – educator, Age Discrimination Commissioner for the Australian Human Rights Commission and Federal senator. Susan became the first female Labor minister and served most notably as the inaugural minister assisting the Prime Minister for the Status of Women.

Susan has always had a strong interest in policies and programs that offer solutions to social problems. She also has a long history of supporting women who work and advocate for change. Over the past 12 months she has kept contact with local Bermagui women who have been discussing housing options for those who wish to remain in our community. This conversation will continue those themes – What are the problems? What are the possible solutions? Are there models working elsewhere? Where to from here?

Conversation will take place at Bermagui Library from 4.00pm to 6.00pm.

Bookings are essential – online at begavalleyshirelibrary.eventbrite.com.au or phone the library.
